Wheelie Wednesday is exactly what it sounds like. Up to 60 riders meet at Hemphill Park and roll out on a 16-mile loop through downtown Austin, plenty of them on bikes rigged with underglow, sound systems, and sponsor stickers. Wheelies and stoppies happen the whole way — this isn’t a ride you show up to for base miles.
512 Wheelie Crew was co-founded by Jose Vazquez and Freddie Miller to give kids and riders a safe space to hang out and ride together, and that community-first streak shows: the crew has stepped up to replace a young rider’s stolen bike with a custom build. All skill levels are welcome, whether you’re there to learn your first wheelie or show off your best one.
Bring lights if you’ve got them — most of the crew rolls lit up after dark. No drop, no judgment, just a loud, glowing parade through downtown Austin.
