MTBATX runs this Thursday evening ride as a proper post-work ritual. Riders gather at Celis Brewery at 6 PM, roll out to Walnut Creek Metro Park, hit the singletrack, and return to the brewery for food trucks and cold Celis White. The route covers about 14 miles at 8–10 mph — intermediate level, not a beginner cruise, but not a hammerfest either. The trails at Walnut Creek have enough variety to keep things interesting without being punishing.
Depending on attendance, the group may split into multiple pace groups. There’s a secondary meetup point at Gracywoods Neighborhood Park around 6:40–6:45 PM for riders who want to join mid-route rather than start at the brewery. Route details post on the MTBATX website by noon on the day of the ride.
The brewery post-ride is genuinely part of the experience — Celis has a good lineup and the food truck situation changes weekly. It’s organized by MTBATX in collaboration with Austin Ridge Riders, so you’re riding with the core of Austin’s mountain bike community.
