Peddler Bike Shop Tuesday MTB Ride

This is a proper shop ride — Mike Wisbauer leads it week in and week out, and the regular crew knows the North Austin trail network well. The Tuesday night ride targets advanced beginners up through intermediates, so you don’t need to be a seasoned shredder, but you should be comfortable handling your bike on singletrack before showing up. Expect technical features, rooted sections, and the kind of riding that gets better the more you repeat it.

If you want extra time on trail, there’s a Champion Park start at 6:00 PM — a full 30 minutes before the main group rolls from Hyde Park at 6:30. It’s a good option if you’re trying to warm up your legs and get a feel for the terrain before the group gathers. Lights are required, not optional — rides run into the evening, and Austin trails after sunset without a solid light aren’t fun for anyone.

Helmets are mandatory, and your bike should be in working order before you show up (not the place for your first time trying to fix that shifter). It’s free, it’s consistent, and the regular crowd is welcoming to new riders at the right level — just show up ready to ride.
