Ride Like a Girl is the Bicycle Trails Council of the East Bay’s monthly mountain bike ride for women — cis, trans, and femme riders looking to spend a Saturday morning learning new trails without the pressure that can come with mixed group rides. The mission statement is right there in how it runs: have fun, meet people, and make sure nobody gets left behind.
The ride rotates through East Bay Regional Parks — Anthony Chabot in Castro Valley, Crockett Hills, and Lime Ridge all make appearances across the year — so the terrain and scenery change month to month even though the format stays the same. Muscle-powered bikes only, no e-bikes, and the pace is set to keep the group together.
It’s run by the same BTCEB crew behind the existing Gala Rides, so if that no-drop, welcoming vibe worked for you there, this is the mountain bike version of it.
