BCC First Sunday Mountain Bike Rides
Boulder Cycling Club's monthly mountain bike ride explores local trail systems every first Sunday. Led by club members, with a post-ride social at a rotating spot.
The vibe
Trail day, first Sunday, every month
Boulder Cycling Club is primarily a road and gravel organization, but once a month the group heads into the dirt. The First Sunday Mountain Bike Ride is a monthly tradition led by Pauline and E.J., who keep the trail selection fresh by rotating through the network of trails that surround Boulder — Valmont Bike Park, Hall Ranch, Walker Ranch, and others depending on conditions and season.
The format is social rather than shreddy. This isn’t a hammerfest on singletrack; it’s a chance for the BCC community to ride a different kind of terrain together, explore trails some members may not know well, and mix up the usual road routine. All skill levels are welcome, and the leaders keep the pace inclusive. Bring appropriate gear for whatever trail is on the calendar that month — check the BCC site or calendar for the specific trailhead and any trail-specific recommendations.
Like all good BCC rides, the social component is part of the deal. Each month’s ride wraps up with a post-ride gathering, which shifts locations along with the trailhead. It’s a low-key monthly commitment that opens Boulder’s trail scene to the broader club community.
