BTCEB Gala Rides — East Bay Trails
No-drop monthly mountain bike rides on the East Bay's best trails — skill-split groups, snacks and beer after. Beginners and non-members always welcome.
The vibe
Trails, snacks, and cold beer
The Bicycle Trails Council of the East Bay maintains the trails, and the Gala Rides are how they celebrate them. Last Saturday of every month, the BTCEB takes a group through the East Bay Regional Parks system — Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland, and other locations across the East Bay hills — on a no-drop ride that splits into groups by skill level so everyone ends up on the right trail for their ability.
The post-ride tradition is snacks and beer, which gives the whole thing a social finish that makes it feel like a community event rather than just a workout. Beginners are explicitly welcome, and BTCEB membership is not required to join. The organization puts in real trail maintenance work, so riding with them has a give-back dimension even if you just show up for the ride.
Free to attend. Check the BTCEB Meetup page for monthly ride locations and any specific notes about terrain difficulty for that month’s route.
