Guaranteed Rate Cycling runs Campton Cross on a wooded stretch of Campton Township land off Brown Road, and the tree cover makes it one of the more sheltered ChiCrossCup venues once November winds start picking up. Expect tight, technical sections carved through the trees rather than the wide-open runs of the flatter venues.
It’s positioned deep enough into the season that conditions are a coin flip — could be crisp and fast, could be a mud pit depending on the week’s weather. Either way, dress for November in Illinois.
