When Chicago Cycling Club’s Training rides say fast, they mean it. These rides operate at 16+ mph and assume skilled participants who are there to work. The format is competitive without being a race — riders push each other, the pace is maintained, and showing up without fitness is a rough experience.
The club also runs Beginner Training rides for cyclists who want to develop their speed in a less intimidating environment. This two-tier structure means the Training category is accessible at both ends of the performance spectrum without compromising either.
