Tandem cycling is its own subculture, and Colorado Tandem Club is where the Front Range’s captains and stokers find each other. With over 100 teams in the roster, the club hosts rides all over the metro area and beyond — some are flat family cruises, others tackle real mountain climbs, and there’s an annual rotation of overnight tours and centuries.
Because every ride is member-hosted, the vibe and difficulty shift week to week, but the throughline is patience and communication — tandem riding rewards teams who talk to each other on the bike. Rides often start or end near a brewery or restaurant, giving the post-ride debrief somewhere to happen.
You don’t need to own a tandem or commit to membership before showing up — the club encourages newcomers to join a couple of rides first to see if it clicks. After that, membership runs $75 per team and includes ride insurance. Check the club calendar, newsletter, or Strava club for the next date.
