Couch to Cross is the name — and the premise. This September weeknight race at Jefferson County Fairgrounds is designed as a gateway cyclocross event: approachable enough for first-timers, but with proper timing, competitive categories, and a venue that Rattler Racing has turned into a Front Range CX institution. The course mixes barriers, off-camber turns, and the kind of technical features that make cyclocross addictive from your very first race.
The Kids Fun Race kicks off at 4:15 PM, making it a genuine family evening. Adult categories follow with staggered start times. Registration runs through Velocity Ventures and pre-reg closes the Tuesday before race day — don’t wait. Juniors race for $25, under-10s get in free, and adults run $35.
Jefferson County Fairgrounds sits right off 6th Avenue, easy to reach from Denver or Boulder. The venue runs as a non-alcohol event on race day, so save the celebration beer for after. Bring a spare set of wheels if you have them, practice mounting and dismounting the night before, and don’t stress about the barriers — everyone crashes them their first race.
