The vibe

Hit the road for days at a time

DBTC’s extended tours program is the reason a lot of members joined in the first place. Several times a year, the club organizes trips ranging from long weekend overnights to 7-10 day adventures — some with camping, some with lodging, all with the built-in infrastructure of a club with decades of tour planning experience. Past destinations have included the Black Hills, Alaska, Moab, Taos, Yellowstone, San Juan Islands, Crested Butte, and Texas Hill Country.

Both road and all-terrain options show up in the program, so there’s generally something whether you’re a pavement purist or happy to get some dirt miles in. Tours are led by experienced club members who know the routes, the logistics, and how to manage a group of cyclists across multiple days without it turning into a logistical mess.

For anyone who’s been curious about multi-day cycling but hasn’t taken the plunge, DBTC’s tours are a low-risk entry point. You’re not figuring out route-finding, camping logistics, or shuttle coordination from scratch — just showing up ready to ride. Costs vary by trip. Check dbtc.org for the current year’s tour calendar and registration details.
