DBTC Fun Plus Rides — Southeast Denver
DBTC's southeast series on Cherry Creek, High Plains, and Piney Creek Trails. H1-H2 paced, 23-36 miles, small group caps, and frequent ice cream stops.
The vibe
Cherry Creek trails, ice cream finish
DBTC’s southeast Fun Plus rides make full use of the Cherry Creek Trail system, extending out to the High Plains Trail, Piney Creek, Aurora Reservoir, and Highlands Ranch. Rides run 23–36 miles at an H1–H2 pace with small group caps of around 10 riders — personal enough that you actually know who you’re riding with.
Ice cream stops are a recurring theme out here. Leaders Susan Larson, Karen Kelley, and Bill Monroe have a knack for finding the right spots at the right distance. Most rides use Meetup for registration, which means spots can fill up — sign up early if you want in.
As with all DBTC rides, your first outing is on the house as a guest; membership ($35/year individual) kicks in after that. These southeast routes are particularly good for riders who want longer, flatter outings through Denver’s well-maintained trail corridors without dealing with significant traffic or climbing.
