DBTC Krispy Kreme Donut Ride
Denver Bicycle Touring Club's 24-mile Cherry Creek Trail ride to Krispy Kreme and back — a delicious season-opener tradition for casual road cyclists in Centennial.
The vibe
Trail ride with a glazed reward
The Krispy Kreme Donut Ride is exactly the kind of ride the Denver cycling calendar needs: a legitimate excuse to eat donuts mid-route without any guilt whatsoever. DBTC runs this 24-mile Cherry Creek Trail out-and-back each spring, heading south to the Krispy Kreme on E-470 for the reward stop before turning back. Easy terrain, paved trail the whole way, and a treat waiting in the middle.
This is a Fun Plus H2 ride, meaning the pace is relaxed and the point is the experience. Starting from the Arapahoe Road Trailhead in Centennial, the route follows Cherry Creek south and connects to the E-470 Trail before arriving at the glaze counter. Bring a few dollars for your donut and something to drink — the staff at Krispy Kreme is used to cyclists rolling up.
It’s an ideal season-opener if you’ve been riding the trainer all winter and want a low-pressure reentry into group riding. DBTC’s rides are beginner-welcoming by design, and a donut ride is a pretty good first impression of what the club is about.
