The vibe

Conquer Lookout Mountain, step by step

Lookout Mountain is the proving ground for Denver road cyclists, and DBTC has built a three-ride series specifically designed to take you up it the right way. Each ride in the progression adds distance and elevation, giving you a systematic approach to one of the Front Range’s signature climbs.

Ride 1 is Lookout Mountain for Beginners 101 — 10 miles, 1,370 feet of gain, starting from the Lookout Mountain Road pillars parking lot. Ride 2 steps it up to 16 miles and 1,897 feet, launching from Clear Creek parking lot in Golden. Ride 3 is Lookout Mountain Plus for All — 21 miles, 2,607 feet of gain, departing from the Apex Trailhead. This one earns its “INT” designation and rewards everyone who makes it with DBTC-provided coffee or ice cream at the finish.

Leader Marilyn Choske coordinates all three rides (303-905-8510). Register by text the day before — this is not a show-up-and-go situation. Cancels in rain. DBTC membership ($35/year individual) required after your first guest ride.
