The Delaware Gran Fondo closes out Wilmington Grand Prix Weekend, a full USA Cycling National Race weekend, with a ride that doubles as a Brandywine Valley history tour. The 100K route links 13 cultural stops — the Delaware Art Museum, Hagley Museum & Gardens, Winterthur — so you’re riding past mansions and gardens as much as you’re riding for time.
That said, it’s not purely scenic: two timed climbs carry age-group prizes, and the mass start rolls out with a full police escort and supported intersections through downtown. Riders can also choose a 60K Medio Fondo or a 24K Governor’s Ride if the full distance isn’t the goal. Past editions have pulled entrants from 17 states and three countries.
Finish line means swag bags, finisher medals, and a reception with catered food and craft beer — a proper capstone to race weekend.
