The vibe

Party on wheels

The Denver Cruiser Ride is the crown jewel of Colorado’s summer cycling scene. Every Thursday from May through September, thousands of riders gather at a different Denver neighborhood to cruise through the city in themed costumes, stopping along the way for food trucks, live music, and general revelry. Think less “serious cycling event” and more “rolling block party that happens to involve bicycles.”

Each week brings a new theme — past favorites include disco night, Hawaiian shirts, and superhero rides — so costumes are strongly encouraged but never required. The route changes every week too, winding through neighborhoods you might not otherwise explore. The pace is slow and social, making it perfect for any bike and any fitness level. Cruisers, fixies, cargo bikes, and everything in between are welcome.

If you’re new, show up about 30 minutes early to soak in the pre-ride energy at the starting location. Bring lights for the ride home since you’ll be rolling after sunset. The route and theme are announced on social media each week, so follow their channels to stay in the loop. This is hands-down the best way to experience Denver on two wheels during the summer months.
