Double Bypass
80-mile supported road ride through the Colorado Rockies on the same day as the Triple Bypass — 6,500 feet of climbing, two passes, all the scenery.
The vibe
Still a heck of a day
The Triple Bypass organization puts it plainly: the Double is “still a heck of a day on the bike.” That’s not a consolation prize — 80 miles and 6,500 feet through the Colorado Rockies on fully supported, car-free mountain roads is a legitimate achievement for any cyclist. It runs the same day as the Triple, so you get all the event energy, the aid stations, and the finisher atmosphere without committing to 120 miles.
The Double is a smart entry point if you’re building toward the Triple, returning from time off the bike, or just have no interest in proving something to anyone. The scenery doesn’t care which bib distance you picked. You’re still riding through some of the most striking terrain Colorado has to offer, with the kind of support that makes a big mountain day feel manageable.
Training rides with Evergreen Ride Club kick off in April through the Triple Bypass Strava club — a solid way to dial in your climbing legs with people who know these roads.
