Sunday Parkways rotates through Portland neighborhoods throughout the year, and this edition takes over downtown — a 2.3-mile loop around SW Broadway and SW Morrison closed entirely to car traffic for the day. It’s the kind of event that turns city streets into a playground for a few hours, with room for every kind of rider from toddlers on balance bikes to commuters testing a new route.
What makes this installment stand out is the feeder network: seven neighborhood bike bus routes (nicknamed Chameleon, Frog, Snail, Slug, Sloth, and Manatee) roll in from Northwest, North, Northeast, East, Southeast, and Sellwood, so riders from across the city can join a group before they even reach downtown.
