The vibe

Party on wheels, all are welcome

Every second Friday, 400+ riders converge on an East Bay BART station and turn the night into a costume party on wheels. East Bay Bike Party is 100% volunteer-run, entirely free, and organized around a simple rotating theme that gives the crowd something to dress for. Meet at 7:30 PM, roll at 8 PM, cover about 15 miles of East Bay streets at a pace that keeps families, newcomers, and seasoned riders all in the same comfortable range.

The starting location changes monthly, so following @eastbaybikeparty on Instagram before each ride is how you stay in the loop. The rules are refreshingly direct: stay right, stop at lights, ride straight, don’t hate, pack your trash, don’t get smashed. What happens within those guidelines is a genuinely joyful mass ride that SF Bike Party riders have been crossing the bay to join for years.

There’s nothing corporate about East Bay Bike Party. It runs on the energy of the people who show up, the costumes they assemble, and the music they bring. If you’ve never done a mass ride before, this is one of the best first experiences available anywhere in the Bay Area.
