The Mt Carbon Loop at Lakewood’s Fox Hollow area is 13 miles of singletrack that delivers more fun than its “beginner-to-intermediate” classification suggests. Short punchy climbs, flow sections, and legitimate descents make for a proper after-work ride. The 4:30 PM Friday start means you’re on trail while most people are still sitting in traffic.
This weekly ride is organized through the Colorado Intermediate Road Cycling and Mountain Biking Meetup group. Bring a trail-ready mountain bike and enough fitness to handle the climbs — the descents are the reward. Fox Hollow Golf Course parking lot at 812 Fox Hollow Lane in Lakewood is the staging area.
Happy hour follows nearby, which is really the second reason to show up on a Friday afternoon.
