Hoodbomb
A season-closing Portland cyclists' camping trip to Mt Hood for zoobomb-style downhill runs, campfire nights at Trillium Lake, and whatever Sunday brings.
The vibe
Camp, bomb, repeat all weekend
Portland’s zoobomb culture doesn’t stay in the city all year — Hoodbomb takes it up the mountain for a season-closing weekend of camping and downhill runs at Trillium Lake. Friday is camp setup, Saturday is dedicated to bombing whatever grades the group can find, and Sunday is famously undefined — show up and find out.
It’s a loose, low-pressure gathering more than an organized event: no entry fee, no schedule beyond “camp Friday, ride Saturday,” and a crowd that’s there for the community as much as the descents. Bring your own gear, food, and a bike that can handle a real downhill run — this isn’t casual cruiser territory.
Trillium Lake is genuinely beautiful in September, and a weekend spent camping lakeside with Portland’s zoobomb crowd is as much about the campfire conversations as the actual bombing.
