A brand-new addition to Portland’s after-dark ride calendar: Light Brigade is built entirely around lit-up bikes, and the inaugural ride sets the tone — 8 to 15 miles of switchbacks starting from the Blumenauer Bridge, with riders encouraged to deck out their bikes in as many lights as they can manage.
It’s part night ride, part rolling light show. The distance is enough to feel like a real ride without tipping into endurance territory, and the semi-weekly cadence means it’s shaping up to be a regular fixture rather than a one-off.
