ChiCrossCup needed a new home in Elgin after Heritage Park went under construction, and Lords Park is stepping in for its first season hosting the series. Main Street Bicycles’ Sasquatch Squadron is running the debut, which means an untested course — tight corners, barriers, and whatever terrain quirks the park throws at racers.
First-year venues in cyclocross tend to be a little chaotic in the best way — course tape still finding its final layout, volunteers learning the walk. If you like being part of a venue’s first go-round, this is your race.
