Major Taylor DJ Dance Ride
Minneapolis's monthly party-on-wheels. The Major Taylor Bicycling Club rolls through the city with a DJ, dancing, and a crowd that's here for the good time.
The vibe
Bikes plus DJ equals magic
Once a month, the Major Taylor Bicycling Club of Minnesota takes their community ride and turns it up. The DJ Dance Ride is exactly what it promises — a casual group roll through Minneapolis with music, energy, and a crowd that comes for the experience as much as the exercise. Pace sits at a comfortable 7–9 mph, which means everyone can keep up and still have enough breath to actually enjoy it.
These rides draw a mix of regulars and first-timers, cyclists and people who borrowed a bike just for this. The Major Taylor club has been a cornerstone of Twin Cities cycling equity since 1999, and the DJ Dance Ride is their most visible public-facing event — the one that makes people who’ve never considered themselves “cyclists” show up in street clothes with a big grin and come back the following month.
Start locations rotate around Minneapolis, so follow @majortaylorminnesota on Instagram or check their Facebook page for each month’s date and meeting point. Helmets are required; everything else is up to you. If you’ve been looking for a reason to get back on a bike, this is a pretty good one.
