The vibe
Week starts in the saddle
Mainstreet Monday is one of TCBC’s recurring weekday ride series — a chance to thread the week’s first ride into routes that span the Twin Cities, from neighborhood bike paths to open suburban roads. The rides change by leader and week but the format stays consistent: a named route, a departure time, a pace classification, and a ride leader who knows how to keep a group together and moving safely.
TCBC’s ride classification system is worth understanding before you show up. C-level rides are social and no-drop — leaders set a conversational pace and no one gets left behind. B rides are brisker and expect riders to be self-sufficient at pace. A rides are for experienced riders who can work a paceline without hand-holding. Whatever your level, there’s a Monday ride that fits, which is the whole point of running a club this size.
You’ll need a TCBC membership ($30/year individual) to ride regularly, with one free guest ride to try it out first. Register on the site, show up 15 minutes early to find your leader, and bring a helmet — it’s non-negotiable. The full Monday calendar lives at biketcbc.org with distances, start locations, and leader names updated regularly.
