TCBC Saturday Group Ride
Minneapolis's largest cycling club sends out multiple pace groups every Saturday. Road riding with trained leaders across the Twin Cities metro.
The vibe
Structured riding, real community
The Twin Cities Bicycling Club has been running group rides since 1993 and at this point they’re basically the infrastructure of Minneapolis road cycling. Over 1,500 rides a year, nearly 200 trained ride leaders, and a pace system (A through C) that actually works — so you’re not getting dropped on your first outing or bored on your tenth. Saturday is their flagship day, with multiple groups rolling from different parts of the metro.
Pace groups are the key detail here. C rides are social and no-drop; everyone finishes together. B/C and B rides move at a moderate clip with some structure. A and A/B rides are for riders who want to push — paceline work, higher average speeds, self-sufficient riding. Every ride is led by someone who knows the route, which matters more than it sounds when you’re navigating the web of trails, bike paths, and open roads that make up Twin Cities cycling.
Membership costs $30/year for individuals, and you get one free guest ride before committing. Show up 15 minutes early, find the ride leader (usually the one with their trunk open and sign-up sheets), and you’re in. The ride calendar at biketcbc.org is where all the specifics live — locations, distances, and leaders updated daily.
