Southerly Ladies Ride
Monthly women-only (trans-inclusive) bike ride along Portland's Trolley Trail. No e-bikes, no dudes — just a peaceful rolling community on SE Portland's quiet rail trail.
The vibe
Women-only trail solidarity
The Trolley Trail is one of SE Portland’s quieter cycling paths — a former streetcar route that runs through Milwaukie and Oak Grove with good pavement and minimal car traffic. The Southerly Ladies Ride uses it as the setting for a monthly women-only (trans women included) community ride that rolls at a genuinely relaxed pace and keeps the space intentionally women-centered.
The ride’s ground rules are simple and upfront: no e-bikes, no dudes, no offense. It’s designed to create a ride where women can be on bikes without navigating the social dynamics that sometimes come with mixed-gender group rides. The Trolley Trail’s calm environment amplifies that.
They roll at 10:10 from the northern trailhead at SE 17th Ave and SE Andrews Drive. Monthly schedule — check the Shift2Bikes calendar at shift2bikes.org for the next date. Show up, introduce yourself, and expect a friendly group of regulars who make it easy to feel like you belong.
