The Forge is a former limestone quarry turned adventure park, and EMC2 (Elmhurst Masters) and the DuPage Cycling Foundation use its loose gravel and wood-chip surfaces to build one of the trickiest courses on the ChiCrossCup calendar. Quarry walls and unconventional footing make this a technical skills test more than a fitness race.
Late-November timing puts it near the back end of the season, so expect a field that’s found its cross legs by now — and a course that rewards bike handling over raw power. Food and beer on site keep the post-race scene going once you’re done fighting for traction.
