Ride Safe PDX
Weekly Thursday community ride led by Ride Safe PDX — making Portland streets safer and more welcoming, especially for riders who've faced harassment on bikes.
The vibe
Riding together, safer streets
Ride Safe PDX grew out of a straightforward idea: cycling should be accessible and safe for everyone, and that means addressing the harassment that keeps some riders off the roads. The weekly Thursday ride is their community expression of that commitment — a loop through Portland with store stops and a welcoming atmosphere for riders who want to bike in a group that looks out for each other.
Meeting at Colonel Summers Park, the ride is open to all. Biketown codes are available for those who need a bike, which removes the equipment barrier. The pace is accessible and the emphasis is on community over performance.
Thursdays, departing from Colonel Summers Park. Follow Ride Safe PDX on Instagram for current timing and any route updates. If you’ve ever felt uncomfortable on a solo ride or want to contribute to a more welcoming cycling culture in Portland, this is a good place to show up.
