RMCC Boulder Fearsome 5
Tackle five iconic Boulder-area climbs on roads and gravel in this challenging RMCC Challenge Series ride kicking off the season in early May.
The vibe
Five climbs, zero mercy
Five Boulder-area climbs in a single ride. The name isn’t a euphemism — this is the season opener for RMCC’s Charlie Henderson Challenge Series, and it sets the tone for what the series is about: putting riders on challenging roads that showcase the best of what Colorado has to offer. The exact five climbs rotate based on conditions and route creativity, but the intent is always to string together Boulder’s most iconic ascents into a single demanding day.
The ride covers road and gravel surfaces, reflecting Boulder’s mixed terrain. Routes are posted on the RMCC Meetup page ahead of the event. As a Challenge Series ride, it splits into multiple pace groups so riders of different abilities can participate without the fastest group leaving everyone behind immediately.
Free with club membership. Details and Meetup registration are posted closer to the date. This is a good benchmark ride for the season — if you’re curious where your climbing fitness is, Boulder’s hills will tell you clearly.
