RMCC Charlie Henderson Challenge Series
Rocky Mountain Cycling Club's curated best-of-Colorado road rides — up to 100 miles tackling iconic climbs and scenic routes May through September.
The vibe
Epic roads, serious miles
The Charlie Henderson Challenge Series is RMCC’s version of a bucket list — a curated set of pre-planned rides of 100 miles or less that target the best roads and climbs Colorado has to offer. Each month from May through September, the club picks a route that shows riders something worth earning: Mt. Blue Sky from Golden, the Copper Triangle with a Turquoise Lake extension, Trail Ridge Road through Rocky Mountain National Park, and a South Jeffco climbing blowout to close the season.
These are drop rides that split into multiple paced groups, so the format is competitive but not exclusionary. The emphasis is on putting people on roads they haven’t been on, building shared history around routes that define Colorado cycling. RMCC has been running organized rides since 1974, and this series reflects that accumulated knowledge of where the best roads actually are.
