The vibe

Team suffering, shared glory

The Flèche is randonneuring’s team format, and it’s unlike anything else in cycling. Teams of 3–5 riders design their own route, the only requirement being a minimum of 24 hours of continuous riding covering at least 360km. No set course, no following a marked route — your team plans the adventure and then executes it through a full day and night on the bike.

Colorado’s Front Range gives teams enormous route-building options: climb into the mountains, cross the plains, loop through canyons, or chain together small towns in a way only possible by bicycle. The shared problem-solving and the 24-hour shared suffering create a kind of team bond that a normal group ride can’t replicate.

RMCC and RUSA membership required. Entry fees apply. Teams must submit their planned route in advance for approval. If you’ve been looking for a reason to do an endurance adventure with your riding crew, this is the format.
