RMCC VGV Audax 200km
Audax-style 200km road ride from Vail through Glenwood Canyon and back — spectacular Colorado mountain corridor with early morning start and mountain scenery throughout.
The vibe
Vail to Glenwood and back
The Glenwood Canyon is one of Colorado’s most dramatic road corridors — the Colorado River running through 1,200-foot limestone walls with a bike path threading the entire length. RMCC’s VGV Audax takes you through all of it twice: Vail to Glenwood Springs and back, 200km of mountain valley cycling with the canyon as the centerpiece.
Audax format means the group rides together within a set time frame rather than racing. It’s a cooperative format that rewards pacing and consistency over aggression — well suited to a 200km day that includes genuine mountain terrain. Starting from Vail at 8:00 AM, the route descends through Glenwood Canyon to the turnaround before climbing back east.
Free to enter in 2026. RMCC and RUSA membership required. Glenwood Canyon has weather exposure and can be closed for rockfall or flooding — check conditions before the event. Bring food for a long day; the canyon has limited services. Full route details and controls at rmccrides.com.
