Cycle Chelan
Ride through vineyards, orchards, and along one of the world's great glacial lakes. Four routes from 30 to 100 miles around Lake Chelan, WA — June 2026.
The vibe
Glacial lake, orchard roads, wine after
Lake Chelan is one of the deepest lakes in the country — carved out by glaciers, ringed by mountains, surrounded by orchards and vineyards — and Cycle Chelan is the best way to ride around it. The event runs a cloverleaf loop design that takes you up McNeil Canyon, past Chelan’s wine country, and along both shores of the lake with views that will make you forget you’re suffering on a climb.
Four routes give you options depending on the day you’re planning: the Signature Challenge 100 (100 miles, serious climbing), Metric Century (60+ miles), the Lake Loop (45 miles circling the lake), and Cycle di Vino (30 miles through wine country at a pace that keeps the tasting rooms in play). The event is run by the Lake Chelan Rotary Club, which means the organization is solid and the cause is good.
The post-ride Party in the Park at Riverwalk Park runs noon to 3 p.m. with a beer and wine garden, food vendors, and enough people recovering in the grass to make it feel like the full summer social event it is. Chelan is about three hours from Seattle — plan to stay the night and make a weekend of it.
