SLOW Ride — Seattle's No-Sweat Viewpoint Loop
Free Monday evening easy-paced social ride from Jimi Hendrix Park through Seattle's famous hilltop viewpoints. Under 10 mph, 12 miles — everyone waits for everyone.
The vibe
Seattle hills, no sweat required
The SLOW Ride does exactly what it says: it goes slow. Departing Jimi Hendrix Park every Monday at 5:30 PM, this 12-mile loop climbs through Seattle’s hilltop viewpoints — tagged as “Seven Vistas, Three Hills, No Sweat!” — at under 10 mph. Nobody gets dropped because the ride doesn’t let that happen. Everyone waits for everyone, walkers can join for sections, and the whole thing takes about 3 hours with stops. It’s a ride you bring your neighbor to, not your training partner.
The viewpoints are the real payoff. Seattle’s hilltop vistas hit differently in the evening light, and riding to them slowly enough to actually look around is the point. This is a good entry point for people who are nervous about group rides, cyclists coming back from injury, or anyone who just wants to see the city from the high points without arriving sweaty.
Free Cascade Bicycle Club ride, advance registration required. Bring a light layer — it’s Seattle, and you’ll be moving slowly enough that the wind chill catches up with you on the descents.
