Cascade Women & Nonbinary Tuesday Rides
Free weekly Tuesday evening Cascade rides for women and nonbinary cyclists. Steady pace, 15 miles around Mercer Island's rolling hills with frequent regrouping.
The vibe
Safe space, steady pace, Mercer hills
Mercer Island’s rolling hills make for a genuinely satisfying 15-mile loop — enough climbing to feel like real riding, compact enough to keep the group together. Cascade’s women and nonbinary Tuesday evening rides use this loop every week, departing the Mercer Island Park and Ride at 6 PM with volunteer ride leaders who know the route and the group. Frequent regrouping is built in, so no one gets dropped and the pace stays honest without becoming a race.
The ride is open to all who identify as a woman or nonbinary, including transgender women and cisgender women. That clarity is intentional — Cascade runs this as a dedicated space, not as an afterthought of the main calendar. The leaders are trained volunteers, and the atmosphere reflects that. Expect a friendly pre-ride chat, some solid miles through Mercer Island’s tree-lined roads, and the kind of conversation that happens when people feel comfortable on a bike.
Free Cascade Bicycle Club ride, advance registration required. Check the women and nonbinary program page at cascade.org for current ride details and upcoming special events in the series.
