The 50th Sequoia Century
Iconic 50th-anniversary cycling event through SF Bay Area's coastal mountains and redwood forests. Five route options from a 43-mile fun ride to a 100-mile century.
The vibe
50 years of redwood riding
Fifty years is a long time for any cycling event to survive, and the Sequoia Century has earned its reputation. Set in the coastal mountains and redwood forests of the San Francisco Bay Area, this is a ride where the scenery does half the work of motivating you up the climbs. The routes wind through terrain that most Bay Area cyclists know is special — forested ridgelines, creek canyons, and the particular light that filters through redwoods on a June morning.
Five route options accommodate a wide range of cyclists: a relaxed 43-mile Fun Ride for those who want the experience without the full commitment, up to a demanding 100-mile Century with over 10,000 feet of climbing for riders who want to truly earn their redwood views. The 50th edition adds historical significance to an event that already had plenty.
Early start at 6:00 AM on June 7, 2026. Registration required, fees apply. Organized by the Western Wheelers Bicycle Club. A milestone edition of one of the Bay Area’s most enduring cycling events.
