The vibe
Bikes down Market at Pride
The San Francisco Pride Parade draws over a million spectators to Market Street each year, and the SF Bicycle Coalition rides it. The coalition’s contingent joins the parade on Sunday, June 29 — riding down the center of Market Street in what is by any measure one of the most significant Pride celebrations in the world. Decorated bike trailer float, painted banners, and the energy of a city that takes Pride seriously.
Participation is open to current SFBike members and affiliated bicycle coalition members. The coalition runs preparation events in advance to build the float and create the visual presence the contingent brings to the parade. The 2026 theme focuses on supporting Black and brown trans folks’ rights — a cause the coalition is integrating into how it shows up at Pride rather than treating as incidental.
If you’re in San Francisco over Pride weekend and involved in the cycling community, this is a genuinely memorable way to participate. Check sfbike.org for the specific logistics, membership requirements, and preparation event dates in the weeks leading up to June 29.
