South Bay Social Cycling
No-drop social rides around San Jose and nearby cities, starting and ending near coffee shops or breweries. Pace of the slowest rider — everyone stays together.
The vibe
No one gets dropped, ever
South Bay Social Cycling exists for the riders who want the group-ride experience without the group-ride anxiety. Every route is strictly no-drop — the pace is set by whoever’s slowest that day — and rides are built around a destination as much as a distance, starting or finishing near a coffee shop, brewery, or local eatery in San Jose and the surrounding cities.
It’s less about training stress and more about exploring new corners of the South Bay with people who aren’t going to disappear up the road. That makes it a solid entry point if you’re newer to group riding, coming back from time off the bike, or just tired of pretending a “casual” ride isn’t secretly a race.
The group runs on Meetup and leans on member and co-organizer route suggestions to keep things fresh, so the schedule shifts week to week — check the Meetup page for what’s next.
