The vibe

Portland's boldest annual protest ride

Named for Terri Sue Webb, a Portland cyclist who was a visible presence in the city’s body-freedom advocacy community, this annual ride is now in its eleventh year. It runs as a protest, a celebration, and a community gathering — all bodies welcome, all nakedness levels respected, with signs and body paint encouraged for anyone who wants to make the statement visible.

The ride gathers at Coe Circle in NE Portland and departs at 2:30 PM. Like all naked rides in Portland, it operates under principles of consent, body positivity, and non-judgmental participation — which means whether you’re fully clothed and carrying a sign, partially dressed, or riding in nothing but a smile, you belong here. The event has run every June for over a decade as part of Bike Summer.

Terri Sue Webb’s legacy in Portland’s cycling community is honored in the ride’s spirit: confrontational about car culture, celebratory about bodies and bikes, and committed to the kind of public space that makes cycling in a city feel like an act of community rather than just transportation. Check the Shift calendar for the current route.
