The vibe
Ride around the Bay for change
The Bay Ride circumnavigates San Francisco Bay — 135 miles of it — and has done so for eleven consecutive sold-out years. The 12th edition on August 29, 2026 departs Sports Basement Presidio and follows the bay’s edges through six aid stations with full SAG support. At the 35-mile mark, riders can choose to finish the San Francisco–to–Oakland route or continue for the full loop. Both are legitimate; the full loop is something most cyclists never check off.
Produced by Bike Monkey for LiveTheBay.org, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, every dollar from registration goes directly to Bay Area cycling infrastructure — safer streets, better connections, advocacy that makes the rides you already do more sustainable. The event limits to 1,000 riders, which is why it sells out. If you’re reading this before registration closes, don’t wait.
Finisher hoodie, bike valet, full support along the course. This is a destination event for Bay Area cyclists and a good reason to visit for riders from outside the region. The scenery alone — bay views, bridges, the varied landscape from San Francisco to the East Bay and South Bay and back — justifies the distance.
