The Divine Ride has been going since 2008 — Wednesday mornings from Java Hut in Fairfax, deep into West Marin, and back. Two route options let you calibrate the day: the classic Fairfax–Nicasio–Point Reyes–Sir Francis Drake loop runs about 35 miles; the extended Marshall and Highway 1 variant stretches to 60. Four sprint segments are built in for those who need a reason to push, with the group recovering after each climb so nobody gets permanently shed.
This is a ride for people with Wednesday flexibility — remote workers, freelancers, the early-retired, anyone who can be at Java Hut by 9:20 AM. Started by Darin Divine of Divine Electric Team, it’s long since become a community fixture rather than a single-club affair. All bikes are welcome, which in Marin means everything from racing bikes to gravel setups finding their way into ranch territory.
The group doesn’t promise no-drop, but it regroups after hills, which accomplishes something similar. Coffee before the roll, Java Hut’s atmosphere after if you want to debrief — the Wednesday ritual in Fairfax has good bones.
