Unbound Gravel 200
The world's most prestigious gravel race — 200 miles through the brutal Flint Hills of Kansas. The event that defines the gravel genre.

Where gravel legends are made
Unbound Gravel (formerly Dirty Kanza) is the event that put gravel racing on the map and still defines it. 200 miles through the Flint Hills of Kansas — the largest remaining tallgrass prairie ecosystem in North America — on roads that are more rock than gravel, in heat that arrives without mercy by June. The finish line in Emporia’s downtown square has seen some of the most emotional arrivals in cycling.
The event runs multiple distances (25, 100, 200 miles), making it accessible at different levels, but the 200 is the legendary distance. Pro and amateur riders start together at dawn. The last finishers come in past midnight. The Flint Hills chew up tires, break frames, and test every system you’ve built over months of training. No route is soft here.
Emporia transforms for race week. The city is fully engaged — restaurants, locals, volunteers, and a cycling culture that runs deep. The start line energy at 6am, with thousands of riders under the street lights before dawn, is one of the great experiences in endurance sport. Registration opens in the fall and sells out in minutes.
